The Dark Comedy 2000 American psychopath, adapted from the 1991 novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, told the fictional story of a net Wall Street yuppie who by day was an investment banker and by night became a maniac obsessed with murdering female workers sex and homelessness.
Well, it looks like life has recently decided to emulate art after reports claimed that a Miami real estate broker was currently in custody after being linked to the unprovoked shooting of several homeless men.

the Miami Herald reports that Willy Suarez Maceo, 25, is an “alleged serial killer” for his possible involvement in the shooting deaths of two homeless men and the non-fatal shooting of a third. The latest incident happened on Tuesday night near downtown Miami, with the survivor telling authorities he had no idea how he was injured. Hours later the second homeless man was shot dead, this time fatal as the victim slept on the sidewalk in Wynwood.
Detectives were quickly able to link the two attacks after Maceo’s license plate was seen visible in surveillance footage.
More details below on how authorities ultimately apprehended Maceo, via Miami Herald:
“Tactical theft detectives found Maceo in his car in Kendall on Wednesday, according to an arrest report released on Friday. They found his 9mm Glock, according to the report, and ballistic tests quickly linked the weapon to the two shots.
Bullet casings were also found “on the person of the accused”, according to the report. Records showed the gun was purchased by Maceo in January 2018, police said.

The third victim was connected after previous surveillance footage that captured the murder of a homeless man at 21 SE 1st Street in October recorded a suspect who almost looks like Maceo. Miami Acting Police Chief Manuel Morales believes there may also be other victims who, as he said, “suffered at the hands of this ruthless criminal.”
Circuit judge Alberto Milian concluded that there was sufficient evidence to lay a charge of attempted premeditated murder, ordering Maceo to remain behind bars and stating: “I conclude that the accused is a danger to her. community”.
While not Patrick Bateman, Maceo has put forward a luxurious lifestyle on social media filled with bespoke suits, beachfront properties, tech conventions, and career advice. He is currently being held without bond.
